Stockholm: European Cultural Heritage online. Aggregation and semantic web

On the 23rd of May 2012 the EU funded project Linked Heritage and Digisam (the national coordination secretariat for digitisation of cultural heritage) at the Swedish National Archives will organise a workshop in Stockholm with on two main themes: "Cultural Heritage Aggregation in Europe" and "Semantic web".
During the first theme focus will be on the aggregation of data to Europeana, demonstrated by examples from European projects like Linked Heritage, SOCH (Swedish Open Cultural Heritage) and APE-net (Archives Portal Europe). Topics like the use of the standards and possible options in developing the aggregation process will also be discussed.
The second theme will deal with how cultural information is presented in portals today and possibilities for optimising search options. The potential in using linked open data and the semantic web for digital cultural heritage will be specially highlighted as well as Wikipedia as a potential actor in this field.
Target audiences are the Linked Heritage consortium and professionals in the cultural heritage institutions in Sweden.
The Workshop will be held in English.
